Michael Edelman was a middle school science and mathematics teacher in the Washington, D.C., metro area and in Philadelphia. As a classroom teacher, he focused on inquiry-based science learning and allowing his students to discover the concepts of science and math through discovery and problem solving. He also served as a junior high assistant principal and middle school principal. As a principal he oversaw the transition of two junior high schools to middle schools. Michael came to Cleveland to serve as the director of curriculum and staff development for a network of charter schools.
