September 10, 2015 - (Cleveland, OH) - Book Notes is The Ohio Channel's new talk show, which features readings, insight and more from authors that are from Ohio, currently live in Ohio, or have written extensively about Ohio.
The show premieres Friday, September 11 at 9 p.m. and will air for 12 weeks. In addition to the broadcast, Book Notes will stream live at ohiochannel.org. And, every show will be available online the Monday after it airs, at bit.ly/1JTZHKL. The shows will air as 15-minute segments and are taped in The Ohio Channel’s Statehouse Studio located in Columbus.
The first episode will be an interview with author/poet and Columbus native Michael J. Rosen. He's been involved in the writing and/or creation of over 100 books. The most recent book he authored, The Maine Coon’s Haiku and Other Poems for Cat Lovers, received star reviews in Kirkus and Publisher's Weekly, as well as a Parents’ Choice Award. Rosen has also received grants from the Ohio Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ingram Merrill Foundation.
Other authors that will be featured on Book Notes include New York Times bestselling novelists Celeste Ng ( Everything I Never Told You), Paula McLain ( The Paris Wife, Circling the Sun), and cartoonist Tom Batiuk ( Funky Winkerbean).
Dan Shellenbarger, senior director for The Ohio Channel, hosts this new show. "Ohio is home to many outstanding and well-known writers, many of whom are on the New York Times bestseller lists,” said Shellenbarger. “On Book Notes, we get to see the sources of their inspiration and the insights into their writing practice. It is a great show to get to know a favorite writer better."
