May 11, 2015 – (Cleveland, OH) – On Saturday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Northeast Ohioans are invited to celebrate KidsDays in honor of WVIZ/PBS’s 50th anniversary. With zoo admission, families will have the opportunity to meet many popular PBS KIDS characters, such as Cat in the Hat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Peg + Cat, Super Why (with Alpha Pig and Princess Presto) and WordGirl, as well as the WVIZ/PBS Zebra!
“WVIZ/PBS devotes 12 hours each weekday to children’s programming, so during our 50 th anniversary it’s wonderful that we can celebrate with one of our most important groups of viewers: kids and their parents,” said WVIZ/PBS Station Manager Peg Neeson. “We’re delighted to make the fun and learning of our programs come to life by partnering with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on KidsDays.”
WVIZ/PBS serves as Northeast Ohio’s home to PBS KIDS programs. PBS KIDS, the number one educational media brand for kids, offers all children the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds through television, online, mobile and community-based programs. Kidscreen- and Webby-award winning pbskids.org provides engaging interactive content, including the PBS KIDS video player.
