Holiday music fills the winter air in Northeast Ohio along with exhibits examining the region's history. Also on this week's to-do list is a tribute to a comic book master in Canton.
"The Golden Age of Cleveland Art 1900-1945"
The Cleveland Arts Prize and Case Western Reserve University partner on the new exhibition at the Cleveland History Center, " The Golden Age of Cleveland Art 1900-1945." Art by photojournalist Margaret Bourke-White and Art Deco master Viktor Schreckengost highlight the show honoring Cleveland's past masters. The show is on view through April 4, 2022.
"100 Years of Discovery: A Museum's Past, Present and Future"
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History celebrates its centennial with the retrospective exhibition, " 100 Years of Discovery: A Museum's Past, Present and Future." Spanning from the museum's founding in 1920 to the future of CMNH in the 21st century, the historic exhibit is on view through July 24, 2022.
Hubb's Groove
Soul, jazz and R&B group Hubb's Groove headlines " Cleveland's Official Holiday Extravaganza" along with B Landrum and Friends. The show gets started at 7:30 p.m. inside Sausalito's Grand Ballroom, Thursday, Dec. 23.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas"
Jazz pianist Cliff Habian performs Vince Guaraldi's beloved musical score to " A Charlie Brown Christmas" at Market Garden Brewery. Habian shares favorites, such as "Linus and Lucy" and "Skating," Thursday, Dec. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
"Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross"
The Canton Museum of Art spotlights one of the modern masters of comic book art in the show " Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross" through March 6, 2022. For three decades, Ross has transformed the images of superheroes like Spider-Man and Black Panther into fine art with his works.
