As the leaves fall, artistic creativity continues to blossom online. Here are five virtual arts events to enjoy this week from Northeast Ohio artists and cultural organizations.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
The Rock Hall Induction Ceremony was to be held in Cleveland this year, but the pandemic put an end to the big event along with its red carpet ceremony. So just prior to the induction ceremony broadcasting on HBO this Saturday, Carrie Keagan hosts a virtual edition of the red carpet antics on the Rock Hall's social media channels starting at 6:45 p.m.
Oberlin Conservatory of Music
The Oberlin Stage Leftvirtual series debuts its first online opera production this Friday, at 7:30 p.m. The double bill of Menotti's "The Telephone" and Poulenc's "The Human Voice" will remain online through November 13.
Angry Cow Poetry
Wayne County poet Keith Allison has assembled performances by various Ohio poets on his blog "Ruminations of an Angry Cow." The new video series, " Outdoor Voices in an Indoor World," can be found on YouTube.
Akron Heritage Music Project
Starting this month, the Akron Heritage Music Project broadcasts a series of eight livestream concerts from historic locations that tell the story of Akron’s past. The first in the series is this Saturday, at 7 p.m., as Rachel Brown and the Beatnik Playboys perform live from the Akron Recording Company.
Cleveland Public Theatre
CPT unearths Holly Holsinger's acclaimed solo performance in " Frankenstein's Wake" as a Zoom production for the theater's fall season "Alive On Line." This twisted retelling of Mary Shelley's classic is available Sunday, November 8, 14 and 20, at 7 p.m.
