ideastream Names Todd Mesek as Chief Marketing & Development Officer
CLEVELAND, Ohio (June 19, 2018) — ideastream, the parent company of WVIZ/PBS, 90.3 WCPN and WCLV 104.9, has named Todd Mesek as Chief Marketing & Development Officer. Beginning on July 9, Mesek will serve in his new role on the executive leadership team of ideastream overseeing marketing and development strategies and implementation.
Most recently, Mesek served as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. As a brand steward and thought leader at the organization, he provided leadership, vision, strategic direction and creative input that drove record-setting attendance in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Mesek played a key role in leading audience development and branding initiatives by developing and cultivating essential relationships, generating national and international awareness for the organization and implementing data-driven digital media strategies.
Prior to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Mesek served as an account supervisor at Vantage One Digital Communications where he managed client relationships and developed interactive marketing programs. Earlier in his career, he worked at Wyse Advertising, Marketing Directions and EBSCO Information Systems.
“Todd brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, marketing communications, market research, sales and brand development to ideastream. His previous experiences managing marketing campaigns for brands, including American Greetings, KeyBank and Smuckers, will greatly benefit ideastream as we consider how to align our iconic local and national brands in this rapidly changing digital environment,” said Kevin Martin, ideastream President and CEO. “Todd will be an invaluable addition as we continue to optimize and expand our content offerings for the future.”
“I am always inspired by the thought-provoking stories from ideastream. The team is doing some innovative work. This is an incredible opportunity for me to join those talented people to further engage the Northeast Ohio community and put the audience at the center of the conversation,” said Mesek.
He is an active member of the community, serving on the Boards of Directors for the Cleveland International Film Festival and Ingenuity Cleveland, as well as on the Professional Advisory Board for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University. In addition, Mesek serves as the Vice Chair of the TourismOhio Advisory Board, where he was appointed by the Governor of Ohio.
Mesek lives in Lakewood, Ohio with his wife, Camelia, and his two sons.
