ideastream Grand Tastings and Seminars Brings It Home, Changes Event Location and Dates
Sept. 15, 2017 (Cleveland) – ideastream takes the helm with the annual Grand Tastings and Seminars including a new date, a new location and the addition of a PBS Celebrity Chef. The ideastream Grand Tastings and Seminars will be held on June 1 and 2, 2018, at the Idea Center® at Playhouse Square.
“We’ve noticed something magical happens when people visit us at the Idea Center,” said Kevin Martin, ideastream president and chief executive officer. “Many are visiting for the first time and remark in astonishment that ideastream includes WVIZ, WCPN, WCLV and a whole host of education and community engagement outreach. We want to build on that experience and invite the community into our home.”
”We’re delighted to host the event in our home,” said Mary Grace Herrington, ideastream chief development officer. “In this way, we’re able to better manage the patron experience and the expenses—a winning combination to building our fan base and increasing the proceeds to benefit ideastream programming and public service. We are especially pleased to add Jacques Pépin—internationally recognized French chef, television personality, and author—and his daughter, Claudine Pépin, to the event activities.”
Organizers are underway to add a Saturday afternoon food demonstration by Jacques Pépin, followed by dinner with wine pairings. In keeping with tradition, the event format will also include a Grand Tasting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1 and five wine seminars on Saturday afternoon, June 2, followed by a second Grand Tasting at 7:30 p.m. Organizers are still planning other aspects of the event and will release more details shortly. Early Bird Tickets will be incorporated into ideastream on-air pledge drives in December. Single, Super-Pass and VIP tickets go on sale Dec. 22, 2017. Grand Tasting tickets include access to the tastings, a hearty appetizer and dessert buffet, a souvenir wine glass, access to the silent auction and a complimentary subscription to Wine Spectator.
All event proceeds benefit ideastream programs and public service. For updates, sign up for the ideastream event e-newsletter, follow the event on Facebook and check ideastream.org/events.
