March 24, 2016 (Cleveland, OH) -- Tavis Smiley, the host of the late night television talk show Tavis Smiley, which airs weeknights at 11:30pm on WVIZ/PBS and on other PBS stations across the country and also on Sundays at 3:00pm on 90.3 WCPN, will travel to Cleveland on Monday, April 18 as part of his “One Great Idea Tour.” Smiley will be in town to record his show in the Westfield Insurance Studio Theatre™ at the Idea Center ® at Playhouse Square, in front of a live audience.
The weeklong tour is designed to inspire the nation with solutions to some of this country’s most difficult challenges. Cleveland is one of five cities that will share “one great idea” their city is doing to improve the focus on the successful community efforts in early childhood education and its impact of every Cleveland child’s first 2,000 days.

Smiley is a broadcaster, author, publisher, advocate and philanthropist whose insightful conversations with world figures, thought-leaders, newspapers, entertainers and authors have expanded the PBS core audiences and challenged the status quo in American media.
He is the author or co-author of 19 books; his latest book “Fifty For Your Future: Lessons From Down the Road” will be released April 5 and is available for purchase and autograph at the event. In this book, Smiley shares 50 hard-won lessons from life that have taken him from Indiana to a national platform as host of Tavis Smiley on PBS, now in its 12th season.
