48th Annual WVIZ/PBS Live Televised Auction Thursday, April 23 to Sunday, April 26

April 20, 2015 – (Cleveland, OH) – Before the Home Shopping Network and eBay, there was the WVIZ/PBS Live Televised Auction. This year’s Auction airs Thursday, April 23 to Sunday, April 26 (3 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon until 1 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday).

Through the coordination of over 500 volunteers, more than 4,000 items will be up for bid, both practical and priceless. Unique items include:


  • antique furniture and other antiques and collectibles, including mid-century modern Herman Miller chairs;
  • original artwork by local, regional and nationally known artists and crafters;
  • one-of-a-kind packages, including Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas and the First Pitch at a Lake County Captains Game;
  • tickets to major Northeast Ohio events, concerts, performances and attractions, such as an evening at The Cleveland Orchestra with WCLV 104.9 ideastream’s own Robert Conrad and Club Seats to a Cleveland Indians Game; and
  • travel packages, including a cruise to Turkey and Greece and a Rick Steves Europe Tour Package, as well as closer-to-home getaways to Washington, D.C., Chicago, Florida and Chautauqua.

Saturday evening, April 25, will once again be devoted to “Wine Night,” featuring some outstanding vintages and varietals. The Auction’s “Wine Guys,” Heidelberg Distributing’s Chief Marketing Officer Dan Greathouse and Keith Morris, Vice President and National Sales Manager for Cline Cellars, will present each wine item up for bid, including a $1,000 Once-in-a-Lifetime-Wine dinner.
