Global Entrepreneurs-In-Residence & Advancements in Biomimicry

Artist-in-residence, musician-in-residence, Amtrak even offers a writer-in-residence program on their cross-country trains, but have you heard of an entrepreneur-in-residence? Baldwin Wallace University and the University of Akron Research Foundation are hoping to lure foreign business upstarts to their campuses with a new program. Trading an H1B visa for student mentoring, isn't a bad deal. And with help from Flashstarts, Cleveland’s venture capital firm for tech start-ups, there is plenty of incentive for entreprenuers to call Northeast Ohio home.

Follow us down some rabbit holes with students studying nature as the answer for some of today’s biggest and smallest problems. Biomimicry translates the solutions of plants and animals to our human world. From designing Velcro after chestnut burrs to keeping vaccines from going bad outside of the refrigerator based on the lives of brine shrimp. We have the world’s first biomimicry Ph.D. graduates on the show.
