Depression Screening Guidelines

The next time you go to your doctor for a physical check-up, don't be surprised if you get a few questions in there about your emotional well being too.  New guidelines recommend that every adult over the age of 18 be screened for depression with special attention to pregnant women, new moms and the elderly.

The Ideastream Health Unit has done extensive reporting on depression, its impact and treatment. Go to the Be Well: Depression sectionof our web site for additional coverage.
