The Cleveland Museum of Art is exhibiting its first display of works by the Italian artist Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) in 48 years. In conversation with co-curator William Hamilton, WCLV's Jacqueline Gerber asked whether, given the distressed surfaces of the artist's sculptures, Giacometti was a distressed person.
The ticketed exhibit is on display through June 12 and free to CMA members. Co-organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Foundation Giacometti in Paris, the exhibition will travel to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; the Seattle Art Museum; and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.
