The holiday season swings into Northeast Ohio with lots of lights and a festive, public art collaboration. Here are five very merry events to enjoy this week.
Wild Winter Lights
Hundreds of lighting displays now illuminate the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Wild Winter Nights. The walk-through and drive-through holiday event is open through Sunday, Jan.2.
Holiday Trains and Trolley
The Greater Cleveland RTA enlisted students from the Cleveland Institute of Art to design more than 50 holiday posters to decorate its Holiday Trains and Trolley. Both the trains and trolley debut on Saturday, Nov. 27, for downtown Cleveland's annual kick off to the holiday season, Winterfest.
The Light After Dark Menorah Parade
Chabad of Downtown and ElevatingCLE present a parade of adorned automobiles for the first night of Chanukah. The Light After Dark Menorah Parade starts at Legacy Village and winds through the streets of Lyndhurst, Beachwood, University Heights and Cleveland Heights Sunday, Nov. 28, beginning at 3 p.m.
Deck the Hall
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens opens up its grounds and manor house trimmed with more than one million holiday lights for its annual Deck the Hall tradition. This year's event, "Lights, Cameras, Christmas," is on view Nov. 26 - Dec. 30.
A Garden Holiday
The Cleveland Botanical Garden is full of colorful poinsettias and tall conifer trees decorated for the season. A Garden Holiday runs Nov. 20 - Jan. 3, and includes special events featuring the Krampus and Santa Claus.
