Haiku Hike
2021 Cleveland Arts Prize winner Ray McNiece leads folks on a poetic Haiku Hike through Cain Park for Heights Arts this weekend. Join the Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate Saturday, August 28, at 10 a.m., on a seasonal morning gingko, or haiku walk, using poetry to enocurage awareness of the seasons.
Cleveland Walls!
As part of the MidTown mural program Cleveland Walls!, AsiaTown Cleveland is hosting a celebration of music, dance and family-friendly activities this Saturday, August 28, starting at 2 p.m. Mural artists Jet Martinez and Dayzwhun will be working on their respective murals along Payne Avenue Cleveland.
Cuban Ballet Masterclass
Verb Ballets welcomes Cuban dance legend Laura Alonso, who leads a community Cuban ballet masterclass Saturday, August 28, at 10 a.m. Dancers are required to wear masks and to register online in advance.
Opus 216
Akron's Tuesday Musical series kicks off with the Cleveland string quartet Opus 216 Sunday, August 29, with shows at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The troupe leads a musical journey of string music outside on the front lawn of the historic Barder House.
La Cosecha Galeria
Local artist Will "Topiltzin" Sanchez hosts an Open Air Art Market at his gallery, La Cosecha Galeria, Sunday, August 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. In addition to an exhibit by area visual artists, the Cleveland salsa band Papo Ruiz y la Dulzura de la Salsa is set to perform.
