Madrigals of All Times

Madrigals of All Times [Cleveland Chamber Choir]
Madrigals of All Times [Cleveland Chamber Choir]

Next time on Cleveland Ovations, we're featuring a program by the Cleveland Chamber Choir called  Madrigals of All Times.

[From Cleveland Chamber Choir's website:]

Returning to making music together after the hiatus imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the glorious voices of Cleveland Chamber Choir present Madrigals of All Times.  Drawing from a diverse collection of European and American composers from the sixteenth century to today, we contrast settings of the same poetry, composed centuries apart.  Central to this concert are world premieres of two sets of madrigals: Three Madrigals by renowned Northeast Ohio composer Dolores White; and Two Madrigals by Adolphus Hailstork, which had been presumed lost.  Also featured on this program is music by Aleotti, Weelkes, Gibbons, Josquin, Bennet, Stainer, Lauridsen, Brahms, and Rindfleisch.  From the sixteenth century to today, let the words and sounds of emotion ranging from playful joy, parting grief, passion, and honor wash over you.

Tune in Wednesday, June 23 at 8:00 pm for Cleveland Ovations!
