Although Carl Topilow has retired after 37 years as a professor at the Cleveland Institute of Music, his musical life will continue as music director of the Cleveland Pops, the Firelands Symphony in Sandusky, and the National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado. Still on his calendar are master classes and guest conducting appearances. Down the road, he might write a book about conducting.
