The Metropolitan Opera’s 2021-22 season of Saturday matinee broadcasts continues with Le Nozze di Figaro – The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart’s brilliant and timeless comedy. It stars bass-baritone Christian van Horn as Figaro, the man with the plan, opposite soprano Ying Fang as his equally resourceful fiancée, Susanna. Bass-baritone Gerald Finley is Count Almaviva, who believes he’s entitled to everything – and everyone – on his estate. Soprano Federica Lombardi is his wife, the long-suffering Countess. And mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke is the irrepressible pageboy, Cherubino. Maestro James Gaffigan leads the Met Orchestra and Chorus in Mozart’s sublime score.
