To some people, the three Rs translate to "reduce, reuse and recycle." Or perhaps "reading, writing, and 'rithmetic."

But to the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the three Rs stand for "rights, responsibilities, & realities."

That's what the bar association calls its annual educational program, the 3Rs program, where the CMBA connects lawyers, judges, law students, and paralegals with high school students in Cleveland and East Cleveland schools.
The goal is to teach them about the Constitution and other aspects of the law, and their rights.

We'll start the "Sound of Ideas" today discussing the three Rs program, which just re-started this week.

We'll also be talking about a new cell phone app called The Kool Line. The Kool Line was developed by a local non-profit; Extravagant Care Services, Inc., to work as a resource that can provide detailed information on civil rights laws.

Later this hour, we'll talk substance abuse. It is on the rise among young people , and one program is designed to reach kids before they start using.

Then, do we need to reframe how we look at aging?

That's especially essential as Cuyahoga County's population is trending older - with almost 30 percent over 60. We'll preview a public workshop on aging the county is hosting this week.
