SCIENTISTS IN CALIFORNIA WERE MEASURING SNOW TO FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH WATER IT CONTAINS.
THE SIERRA SNOWPACK SURVEY TURNED UP GOOD NEWS FOR THE DROUGHT-SUFFERING GOLDEN STATE: THIS WINTER HAS BEEN CALIFORNIA’S WETTEST IN 20 YEARS – AND ALL THAT SNOW WILL EVENTUALLY MELT INTO DRINKING WATER FOR THIRSTY RESIDENTS, ANIMALS, AND CROPS!
THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES REPORTED SNOWPACK INCREASES IN EVERY AREA OF THE MOUNTAIN RANGE – INCLUDING THE SOUTHERN PORTION, WHICH HAS OVER DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF SNOW IT NORMALLY GETS.
