Let’s see…what else am I forgetting? Oh right! A certain NBA team from Cleveland ended the city’s 52-year championship drought and made history to do it…Akron’s own LeBron James and the Cavaliers were three games down when they reversed the curse and edged out the Golden State Warriors in a tight game 7 – becoming the only team in NBA history to overcome a 3-game deficit to become NBA Champions. In response, Cleveland gave the champs a homecoming they’ll never forget – packing into downtown by the thousands to cheer them on as they paraded down E 9 th St – and you know I didn’t miss it!
I think we could really get used to being a champion city – and the way the Indians are playing we might have another reason to celebrate this fall.
