Solar-Powered Plane Takes Off on Historic Round-the-World Trip

A Swiss firm is attempting the first ever round-the-world flight fueled only by the sun's rays. The Solar Impulse 2 plane took off from Abu Dhabi on a 22,000 mile journey, which could land it in the record books.

A solar panel turns the sun's light into energy - now imagine using that energy to lift a plane!
