Baby Tortoises Born On Galapagos Island For The First Time In A Century

Eliminating a rat infestation is probably a good idea in most places. But it was a matter of life and death for nearly-extinct animals of the Galapagos Islands, which are actually an archipelago, or a group of islands that straddles the Equator in the Pacific Ocean.

Conservationists have been working for decades to save the rare tortoise population, and for the first time, they've finally gotten proof their efforts are paying off.
