Medical Scopes Responsible for 'Superbug' Infection

Doctors in California are battling a super strong virus that killed two people in a Los Angeles hospital. Eventually they discovered medical instruments were how the disease spread.

A device called an endoscope, generally used for procedures on the gallbladder, pancreas and intestine is especially hard to clean. And even after being treated, the hospital says they still carried the deadly bacteria.

Seven patients were infected between October and January, but the concern was that 179 other people who had procedures at that same time could be infected. They're all being monitored now to make sure that if they get sick they can immediately be treated.

Better guidelines will be followed to clean machines and kill the superbug.
