Cedar Point has been in the news quite a bit recently. This past month the amusement park announced it will be shutting down a once popular roller coaster, the mantis, for good at the end of the season. The park also lost it's 16 year reign as the world's best amusement park. And this week, the park made a special announcement about a popular NBA star. Two days before Lebron James announced his decision to come back and play for the Cavs, Cedar Point offered to name one of its 17 coasters after him if he returned to Northeast Ohio to play ball. But much to people's surprise, the park announced Tuesday that there will be no King James roller coaster after all. Instead, Cedar Point plans to partner with the Lebron James Family Foundation to host nearly 800 children and their families who are part of the foundation's "Wheels for Education" program and a dropout-prevention program based in Akron.
