Coping With Cancer

When you hear the word cancer, it can send a chill down your back. Whether it's your own diagnosis or that of a loved one, it's a disease that can turn into a protracked affair, overwhelming a person's life. From screenings to chemotherapy to surgery and radiation,  it is, as many patients can attest, downright scary.

But there's also reason for hope: two-thirds of Americans now live at least 5 years after a cancer diagnosis as compared to only about half in the 1970s.

In this show, we'll hear stories from families in Northeast Ohio who are in the thick of a cancer diagnosis. We'll hear about how the disease can have a ripple effect on the whole family as well as on a person's pocketbook.

These aren't easy stories to watch, or to tell. But in them, you'll find a spirit of resilience and get invaluable advice.
