Behind The Scenes Of The Plain Dealer's 'Case Closed' Series

Sandi Fedor tracked down her own rapist after Cleveland Police closed the case. [Lynn Ischay / The Plain Dealer]

A Cleveland Police detective made a promise to rape survivor Sandi Fedor: "We're going to get him."

But police closed her case without telling her. They didn't get him. She did.

The Plain Dealer explored her story, revealing serious problems with sex crimes investigations in Cleveland, in a series called "Case Closed." Reporters Rachel Dissell and Andrea Simakis discuss Fedor's story, and the troubling issues it reveals, on The Sound of Ideas.
