Legal systems acoss the country are examining bail and other pre-trial procedures to make them equitable. One big idea is to set bail based on whether the defendant is a risk to flee or harm the community, rather than just based on the charge.  The Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission, a Supreme Court working group, convened an ad hoc committee of legal system professionals from across the state to examine bail and offer reform recommendations.

Sara Andrews, Director, Criminal Sentencing Commission, The Supreme Court of Ohio
Judge Ken Spanagel, Parma Municipal Court, Sentencing Commission Member, Ad Hoc Committee Co-Chair
