There was a celebratory mood after University Hospital's Chief Executive delivered his annual speech to a packed audience yesterday.
The region's second-largest health system reported one of its best years ever, Tom Zenty had told the crowd.
"We now take care of almost one million individual patients per year across our entire health system," Zenty says. "That means almost one in four people who live in Northeast Ohio entrust us with their care"
University Hospitals has been growing. Last year, it added hospitals in Elyria and Parma to its network. And it's announced agreements with two more regional hospitals this year.
The health system's market share is up to 28 percent within the 8 county region, according to the most recent credit report. Revenues from patients are now nearly $3 BILLION Dollars.
In addition to adding hospitals, UH is also adding services. It plans to open the region's second Level 1 Trauma Center later this year.
