Obama's Trip Meets Opposition

On the way to the Strongsville senior center, the President’s motorcade passed roughly 70 protesters holding signs that said things like “kill the bill” or “just say no to Obamacare.”

Republican senate candidate Rob Portman released a statement timed to the President’s visit, calling the 2300-page proposal job-killing, and costly. He said, quote: "At a time of rising unemployment, we want jobs, not more big government proposals that are going to make it harder to get Ohio out of this economic crisis."

Meanwhile, the President’s health care push is also getting some opposition from the left. Ohio congressmen John Boccieri and Dennis Kucinich are both on the fence about voting for the bill. Only Kucinich showed up for the rally, and when the president introduced him, an audience member shouted “vote yes.” But when asked by a reporter, Kucinich wouldn’t comment on his current position on the bill.
