Last week's poll results, this week's inbox.

AS NICK EXPLAINED, ONE REASON WE’VE BEEN A UNITED COUNTRY FOR SO
LONG IS BECAUSE OUR FOUNDING FATHERS CRAFTED A SOLID VISION IN OUR
CONSTITUTION. ANOTHER REASON IS THAT WE’VE HAD SOME BRAVE MEN AND
WOMEN FIGHTING FOR IT.

IN HONOR OF VETERAN’S DAY LAST WEEK, WE ASKED YOU IF YOU HAVE A
RELATIVE WHO IS A VETERAN – AND A WHOOPING 87% OF YOU SAID YES!
YOU ALSO WROTE IN TO TELL US ABOUT THESE HEROES, SO LET’S TAKE A
PEEK INSIDE OUR INBOX.

MYKALA FROM NORTH COLLEGE HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL SHARED THIS WITH US:
I HAVE 4 RELATIVES THAT WERE IN THE MILITARY. THE RELATIVES ARE MY
MOM, UNCLE, GRANDMA, AND MY GRANDPA. THE MILITARY IS HOW MY
GRANDMA AND GRANDPA MET. MY GRANDMA SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO GET
READY IN 5 MINUTES -- THAT INCLUDES TAKING A SHOWER, GETTING
DRESSED, MAKING THE BED, BRUSHING YOUR TEETH, ETC. I THINK IT TAKES
ME FIVE MINUTES TO DO ONE OF THOSE THINGS!

RACHEL FROM ORRVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL WROTE TO US ABOUT HER BRAVE
GRANDFATHER:
I HAVE QUITE A FEW FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ARE VETERANS, BUT MY
GRANDPA (HIS NAME WAS RICHARD) FOUGHT IN THE VIETNAM WAR AS A
CAPTAIN IN THE AIR FORCE! HE HAD A PURPLE HEART AND LOTS OF OTHER
BADGES.

SOFIA FROM MARYLAND ELEMENTARY THOUGHT THE WORLD WAR II
BRACELET IN LAST WEEK’S EPISODE LOOKED FAMILIAR:
MY GREAT GRANDFATHER SERVED IN WORLD WAR II AND HE HAD A BRACELET
JUST LIKE MIKE BEAUDOIN'S FATHER. ALSO, WHEN HE WAS IN WAR HE TOLD
ME THAT HE HAD MANY FRIENDS HE MET AND HE WAS VERY PROUD FOR
WHAT HE HAD DONE, AND I'M PROUD OF HIM TOO!!

TREVOR FROM ST. PETER WROTE TO US AFTER TALKING TO HIS AMAZING
GREAT GRANDFATHER:
MY PAPA SERVED IN THE ARMY DURING VIETNAM. MY GREAT PAPA SERVED IN
WORLD WAR II AT OKINAWA AND IWO JIMA. I CALLED HIM TO TELL HIM ABOUT
THE OLDEST MAN WITH THE HIGHEST HONORS WHO IS 95. MY GREAT PAPA IS
93. HE JUST GOT HIS METALS FROM THE WAR 3 YEARS AGO FROM A VETERAN
WHO HELPED HIM.

AMELIA FROM ST. SUSANNA FOUND VETERAN’S DAY PRETTY INSPIRING:
BOTH OF MY GRANDFATHERS WERE VETERANS AND MY COUSIN IS A VETERAN
NOW. ONE OF MY GRANDFATHERS WAS IN THE MARINES AND THE OTHER WAS
IN THE NAVY. IN SCHOOL, WE HAD A SPECIAL CEREMONY FOR THESE
VETERANS, AND IT MADE ME REALLY START TO REALIZE THE THINGS
VETERANS DO FOR OUR COUNTRY. THERE IS A REALLY FAMOUS QUOTE I
HAVE HEARD AND I REALLY LIKE IT. "LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE
BRAVE." I REALLY LIKE THIS QUOTE, IT HELPED ME REALIZE HOW MUCH
VETERANS REALLY MEAN TO THIS COUNTRY!

WOW, THOSE WERE SOME FANTASTIC LETTERS! MANY OF YOU TOLD US YOU
ACTUALLY SPOKE TO THE VETERANS IN YOUR LIFE – AND I’M SURE THAT
MADE THEM FEEL VERY SPECIAL. IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY, BE SURE TO ALSO
THANK THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE. WE ALL OWE THEM A GREAT DEAL!

WE ALSO WANT TO TIP OUR HATS THIS WEEK TO SOME EAGLE-EYED VIEWERS
FROM THE WESTMINSTER SCHOOLS! SEVERAL OF THEM WROTE IN TO TELL
US THAT THE ELECTORAL MAP WE USED IN LAST WEEK’S SHOW WAS A LITTLE
OUTDATED. THE MAP WE USED WAS FROM THE 2008 ELECTION, BUT THE
NUMBER OF ELECTORAL VOTES IN CERTAIN STATES HAS CHANGED SINCE
THEN. FOR INSTANCE, GEORGIA USED TO HAVE 15 ELECTORAL VOTES, BUT
NOW HAS 16 BECAUSE THEIR POPULATION INCREASED. THANKS
WESTMINSTER FOR POINTING THAT OUT – AND SHOWING US THAT YOU ARE
ENGAGED VIEWERS!
