Senate President and Minority Leader Talk About Passed Laws and Priorities For Next Year

The House and Senate wrapped up their work this week and went home for the holidays. Before they left, they approved a series of bills on the budget, on ride-sharing services, on the "ban the box" movement on public sector job applications and on a sales tax exemption for rare coins and bullion. But there was no movement on the bills to defund Planned Parenthood.

It’s been a busy year – a $71 billion state budget was approved, new laws were passed dealing with water quality and algae control, charter schools, business setup costs, overdose drugs, and standardized tests, and next year’s presidential primary was moved. And the two-year session is just half over. To look back and look ahead are the leaders of the Ohio Senate: President Keith Faber (R-Celina) and Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni (D-Boardman).
