Yesterday, the Biden administration officially launched its portal for eligible borrowers to apply for up to $20,000 in student load debt relief.
Back in August, President Joe Biden announced his decision to cancel up to $10,000 in student loan debt for people making less than $125,000 a year, or as much as $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients.
Borrowers will be able to submit applications from now until the end of 2023.
This hour on the "Sound of Ideas," we're going to learn more about the process of applying for this student debt relief, including who's eligible, and other major changes to student loan repayments that you may have missed in recent months.
We'll also talk about a major deadline for borrowers who work in public service, such as teachers, nurses, as well as government and nonprofit workers that is happening at the end of this month.
