Stop the Hate 2017; Governor John Kasich Book "Two Paths: America Divided or United"

A black student is called a closeted white girl and an oreo because, her black friends say, she doesn't act black enough. Another student recalls her abuser pleading, "If you leave me, I will kill myself." And an Asian teen recounts a neighbor telling him at age 10 to "Go back to your egg rolls." Heavy, ugly experiences. They fight back against prejudice by sharing their perspectives in the annual "Stop the Hate" essay contest. Finalists join us on The Sound of Ideas. Plus, Statehouse News Bureau Chief Karen Kasler sits down with Governor John Kasich to talk about his new book, "Two Paths: America Divided or United."
