For teacher appreciation week, we want you to “tell us about a teacher who has made an impact in your life.”

A teacher that I look up to is my social studies teacher, Miss Smolik. I look up to her because she is always kind to everybody. I try to be kind, but it's hard sometimes. She also helped me once after I had three bad days in a row and I couldn't take it anymore. This is the teacher I look up to a lot.

I'm in 4th grade and my teacher is so funny! His name is Mr. Johnson. He is so funny and sometimes when I'm sad he makes me happy. He is also very silly. One time he slammed a student's water bottle in the air and kicked it! He is funny and silly and I like him as my teacher.
—Oliver, Roosevelt Elementary, Lakewood
My home room teacher Mr. Miller is amazing. He is kind, witty, smart, caring, inspiring, optimistic, positive, and supportive! I'm so sad the year is ending! I was happy to have him as my teacher!
— Julia, Tallmadge Elementary
As an Albanian kid that lives in the US, I had a lot of great teachers before transfer. But there was one teacher who always would yell me to keep going and not stop on hard work because you will get somewhere.
— Kostandin, Harding Middle School
One of the best teachers I have ever had is Mrs. Cook. She helps students understand lessons and is patient with students struggling with a lesson. She makes her lessons fun and exciting, and puts in lots of hard work and time for her students. Thank you Mrs. Cook for always being there when we need help, and for everything you do!
