Brown recluse spiders are found mainly in south-central and Midwestern states, including southwest Ohio.
A few defining characteristics of the brown recluse are long legs without stripes, six eyes in a semi-circle on their head, and a large abdomen with a fiddle-shaped marking.
Be careful around these guys. They have venom that can make their bites dangerous. However, the spiders aren't aggressive; they will only bite if they feel threatened or trapped, according to the University of Kentucky.
