Your Answers: How can you build up your peers?

Last episode we learned how social media can negatively impact your mental health. Then we asked you:  How can you build up your peers?

“I think that playing outside more can build up your peers more because you're not looking at screens that much and that's how I think you can build up your peers more.”

— Charlie from Amherst Elementary in Jackson

“I can build up my peers by being kind to them and giving them compliments. For example, telling them they look nice today or telling them they are good at math.”

— Garrett at Warren Local School in Vincent

"I can build up my friends, family and peers by helping them when they need help or even just saying: ‘Have a good day,’ ‘You are important,' or ‘You matter in the world.’ One thing that I do every day to build up my peers is give a compliment and say something sweet, such as, ‘The world is better because you are in it’ or ‘You are capable of very amazing things.’ This is how I lift up my friends, family, and peers."

— Bethany at Mulberry Elementary in Milford

“When I grow up I really want to be a cook.  To build up my peers I would cook for my friends, family, and maybe even I’ll make a meal for someone in need. For example, if my sister is hungry I can make something for her.”

— Jacob from Cassingham Elementary in Bexley

“I would give my friends a hug. No matter how mad or sad they are a hug always makes up for anything. Hugs are a 'me and my friends thing.' And if that does not work, I’ll try to make them laugh. I'm pretty good at that. And if that doesn't work, I will try to talk to them about it.”

— Autumn from Cloverleaf Elementary in Seville

“I want to make my cousin Anthony feel good about himself by saying this to him: Hey Anthony, I just wanted to let you know that you are brave, you are smart, you are powerful, you can do it! Always remember to let kindness and love guide you through your life!”

— Gabi from Loveland Elementary in Loveland
