Last episode, we learned about the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue in Richmond, Va. Then we asked: What historic figure would you make into a statue?
If I could make a statue, it would be Jackie Robinson because baseball is the best sport in my opinion..... and my statue would be him lifted up by his teammates after a walk-off grand slam. And that's what I would want my statue to look like if I could make one.
— Blake at Applewood Elementary in Brunswick
I would do a warhorse because I love horses and because they were an important part of our history. I mean, think about it, all of those horses had to sacrifice their lives for us/the war.
— Elena from Corpus Christi Academy in Lyndhurst
A historic figure I would make a statue for would be Albert Einstein because he has always been a role model for me, and I have loved his research for years, so that's why I would make a Statue of Albert Einstein.
— Brandon from Claggett Middle in Medina
I would make Rosa Parks into a statue because she stood up for people's rights and refused to let segregation happen, and her statue would be her refusing to get up from her seat on the bus.
— Zoe from Olmsted Falls Intermediate in Olmsted Falls
The historical figure that I would make a statue of would be Marquis de Lafayette. I would choose him because he came all the way from France to fight for America in the Revolutionary War. He was very young and fought alongside George Washington. I would make the statue by the Washington Monument. Lafayette did a very good deed for America and deserves to have a statue of him.
