The Ebola outbreak that has taken the lives of more than 2,000 people and infected double that number is spreading fast through Liberia and other countries in West Africa. Ebola is an infectious and often fatal disease marked by fever and severe internal bleeding. The Ebola outbreak was first identified in guinea in March and has since spread across Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Those giving medical aide to the Ebola victims are covered in head-to-toe protective gear. Still, four U.S. missionaries have contracted the disease and are now being treated. Under pressure to do more to confront the Ebola outbreak, President Obama has made plans to expand military and medical resources to combat the spread of the deadly virus.
