Should Parents Use Smartphone Apps To Track Their Kids?

Ninety-five percent of U.S. teens between the ages of 13 and 17 own or have access to a smartphone. About one in six parents, according to the Pew Research Center, use GPS tracking apps to monitor the location of their child. But just because parents can track their kids, should they? Dr. Lisa Damour, a psychologist and columnist from Shaker Heights, joins ideastream’s Rick Jackson to discuss the pros and cons of these apps – and how parents can teach children about exercising responsibility.
