Why Ford Is Reinventing Itself

Ford Motor Company has announced plans to discontinue its Fiesta, Focus and Taurus models by 2020. The move to end production of these sedans, once a cornerstone of the company Henry Ford started in 1903, affects not only Ford workers but also hundreds of parts makers throughout Ohio. To learn more about the impact on the state and why Ford executives think this is the right move to secure the firm’s future, ideastream's Rick Jackson spoke with Joanna Ganning, assistant professor of urban planning and economic development at Cleveland State University.
