Gun Control
In the wake of last week's shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., a long time American debate has been dug up once again - Gun Control. Early this week, President Barack Obama announced a new initiative that would include members of his cabinet and outside organizations to generate proposals to rein in gun violence. He said that any effort should include new restrictions on guns, but also improved access to mental health services and better management of violence in popular culture. His hope and plan is for this not to just be a conversation, but for it to lead to action.

Mental Health
Last week’s school shooting in Connecticut raised the question: What will be the psychological fallout for the children who survived? It is assumed that the children and people of all ages could possibly and will more than likely suffer from Post Traumatic Syndrome or PTSD. And while many still grapple with the fact that their loved ones are gone and try to pick up the pieces and regain some normalcy, others are questioning what exactly was happening in the mind of the shooter and why these mass shootings keep happening in our country.
