One Community Reads is a collaborative among The City Club of Cleveland, ideastream, Playhouse Square and nine local public library systems. The public is tasked to read a certain book, and as a collective we discuss the issues raised in that work. This year's book is "Palaces For The People" by Eric Klinenberg, which argues for the importance of public spaces and social infrastructure. Also this hour, local and independent book stores are seeing a resurgence in business. We talk to two local shop owners about the industry trends, and what they offer that Amazon does not. Finally, a conversation with Northeast Ohio author Nicolette Polek about her new book “Imaginary Museums”. She is back in town for an appearance at Loganberry Books.
