This week's NewsDepth A+

IT’S NEAT TO SEE HOW TECHNOLOGY CAN MOVE US FORWARD. THIS WEEK OUR A PLUS GOES TO A KENTUCKY CLASS THAT IS LEARNING JUST THAT. THEY HAVE CREATED A MACHINE THAT PROMOTES RECYCLING AND GIVES YOUR CELL PHONE A BOOST.

THE ENERGY MANAGEMENT CLASS NAMED THEIR INVENTION DEBORAH. SHE GIVES A USER 15 MINUTES OF PHONE CHARGING TIME FOR EVERY PLASTIC BOTTLE THEY DEPOSIT. THE MORE BOTTLES, THE MORE PHONE TIME AND THE LESS ENERGY IT TAKES TO ACTUALLY CHARGE THE PHONES. THE IDEA CAME ABOUT WHEN THEIR TEACHER SAID HE WISHED THEY WOULD RECYCLE MORE, AND THE STUDENTS SAID THEY WISHED THEIR PHONES WOULD DIE LESS.

FOR PUTTING THEIR HEADS TOGETHER TO SOLVE TWO PROBLEMS AT ONCE, THESE STUDENTS GET OUR NEWSDEPTH A PLUS!
