A Plus: Heritage Elementary's Unity Day

READ THE SCRIPT:

So, who's ready for an A+? 'Cause I've got one for some students who put their best foot forward to spread kindness. Let's go out to Heritage Elementary in Medina. They held a school-wide event for National Unity Day.

Heritage Kiwanis K-Kids went into classrooms and taught a lesson about the importance of spreading positivity and being kind to their peers. Some of the K-Kids even presented their lesson to the entire school.

Students created colorful signs to symbolize steps along the path of kindness and they hung them up around the school.

The K-Kids led a unity walk around the community, starting in the school's neighborhood and finishing up at the local fire department. Students cheered and held up signs with positive words.

Lucy, a fourth-grade K-Kid, said, "My favorite part of the Unity Day celebration was walking with the second-graders. I taught them ways to be kind, but surprisingly, they taught me ways to be kind as well."

Great work, Heritage Elementary. You're taking big strides toward a kinder world. We're excited to award you this week's A+.
