A night of pop-music star power comes to downtown Cleveland Saturday night as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame stages its 2021 induction ceremony. In addition to the 13 inductees, a host of celebrity presenters will be on hand to honor them from the stage of the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. But even without a ticket, fans will get a glimpse of the performers during a red carpet event that will be streamed on the Rock Hall’s YouTube page starting at 5:00 p.m.

1. This is the first year the ceremony is at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The seating will top out a little under 12,000, to eliminate obstructive views and allow for HBO TV cameras which will be recording the event. There will also be an international contingent of reporters on hand, taking this Cleveland story around the world, according to Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris.

2. Some inductees won’t be at the party in Cleveland. Tina Turner and Todd Rundgren are not expected.

3. The inductions alone are estimated to have about a $37 million economic impact for the region, according to the research firm Tourism Economics.

4. All audience members must show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide documentation of a negative test within 48 hours of the ceremony. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks inside the venue. Cash will not be accepted as a form of payment during the event.

5. The Go-Go’s are making a fan appearance at the Rock Hall on Friday at noon ahead their induction on Saturday. Activities will include an interview with the band, a book signing and the 2021 Hall of Fame signature panel dedication.
