Food recalls so far this year are on pace to beat last year’s 94. You might remember a couple of recent standouts: Listeria was found in popular ice cream brands, including one in Ohio; And, this summer, potatoes at a Lancaster County church potluck sickened dozens and killed one.
ideastream’s Sarah Jane Tribble talked with Suzanne Krippel, a program manager in food protection for the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, about how to navigate food recalls and make sure the food you’re feeding yourself and loved ones is safe. We join the conversation as Krippel talks about the recent ice cream recalls and why people should be cautious when buying foods that require certain time and temperature conditions.
