Research shows more people are being diagnosed these days with some form of autism. In 2002, 1 in every 150 kids in the U.S. was diagnosed. Now, according to figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it’s 1 in 68. In Ohio, an estimated 60,000 people are living with autism. Every year here in Northeast Ohio, the Milestones Autism Resources organization brings together experts, parents and community members to talk about resources and new strategies associated with what’s known as “autism spectrum disorder.”
