The CDC's Barbara Reynolds speaks about Ebola at a conference for journalists in Washington D.C.

Most people will remember the scare we had in Ohio back in October, when Dallas nurse Amber Vinson visited family in Northeast Ohio before coming down with the Ebola virus. Vinson is ok now, and she wasn’t symptomatic while here and no one else got sick, but it still really shook the community and hit home the global nature of the Ebola outbreak going on right now in West Africa.

Ideastream’s Anne Glausser helped cover Vinson’s visit and she recently went to D.C. to hear from directors with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the aftermath of the U.S. Ebola scare and the other infectious diseases that keep CDC officials up at night. She spoke with Morning Edition Host Rick Jackson.
