Jack Andraka was just a 15-year-old Maryland high school sophomore when he invented an inexpensive early detection test for certain types of cancer.
The inspiration came after a close family friend died of pancreatic cancer. His discovery has made him a science wunderkind, appearing at the White House and accepting global prizes.
Andraka is now 17 years old and has a book, "Breakthrough", coming out in March. He sat down with ideastream's Sarah Jane Tribble to talk about his discovery and his love for science during a recent visit to Cleveland.
