The American smoking rate is at or near historic lows in part because of steps the government has taken. Cigarettes are taxed, here in Ohio there are restrictions on where you can smoke, and cigarette makers are limited in where they can advertise. Some public health advocates are wondering if similar strategies could be used to encourage Americans to eat healthier.
